 Application Form for DIBS

 IF ...

  • you have read through the DIBS catalog and
  • you are sure you want to study with DIBS,
  • THEN ...

  • fill in the following application and
  • begin studying the course(s) you have selected
(but don't assume you will be accepted as a student).
  • Note, however, if you merely want to communicate something to DIBS without making an application to be a student, you should use the other form, or you should e-mail us at Chad@DIBS.org.

Please fill out the following application carefully. Be sure to answer all the questions fully. Make sure that you have used good English and that your spelling, punctuation, and grammar are correct. DIBS does reject applicants. The application form is only a part of our basis for evaluating the applicant. While we do not require perfection, we do expect that the application to be clearly understandable and that it reflect that the applicant is an active believer who is serious about serving the Lord. After you submit this application, you will immediately be taken to a web page where you will be given a preliminary assignment which will be the final basis for acceptance or rejection as a student.

Please note that due to the very great success we have had, we are only able to accept less than 30% of the applicants. Don't let this discourage you from applying, though.

       Work

       (optional )

II. Enter this personal information ...

    • Age:

    • Educational Background: Briefly state your academic background

    • Current Activities: Briefly summarize what you are doing (work, schooling, church involvement, ministry, family) ...

    • Please briefly give your personal testimony of trusting Christ as you Savior and of you spiritual walk since then.
Be sure to answer these two questions: 1) Are you sure that when you die you will go to heaven, or is that something you that you're still trying to figure out? 2) If you were to die today and stand before God, and if He were to ask you, "Why should I let you into My heaven?" what would you say?

III. Respond to the "Statement of Understanding" ...

    • I have read the following statement of understanding and affirm that the statements are true.

       Yes:

No: (Obviously, if you say "No," there is no need to proceed.)

    Statement of Understanding

    1. I have trusted Christ as my Savior. I believe that Jesus died for my sins, was buried, and rose again for my salvation. I am depending on Him to save me, not on my good works or anything else.

    2. I have committed myself to live a Christian life. I have submitted myself to the Lordship of Christ: a life of faith and obedience to Him. I am not in significant disagreement with the DIBS doctrinal statement or its beliefs, nor am I involved in any conduct or activities which would likely keep me from being accepted as a student with DIBS (for example, drug or alcohol abuse, fornication, homosexuality, abortion, euthanasia, or other illegal or immoral activities).

    3. I have familiarized myself with the DIBS catalog and have decided that I want to begin studying with DIBS. I understand that it is my responsibility to regularly contact the director of my studies at DIBS, to show him my progress, to ask him questions I may have about my studies, and to seek his guidance in them.

    4. I realize that I am ultimately responsible for my own learning. I understand that DIBS may change the requirements of its programs and courses when its leadership believes it needs to. I also understand that the leadership of DIBS may drop me as a student or refuse to recognize my academic progress at their discretion if they believe it is best to do so.

IV. Indicate your academic goals with DIBS ...

    • Please indicate which program you ultimately intend to work toward through DIBS:

    Regular Degree Programs

    Degree Completion Programs

    Beginning Program

    Bible Certificate

    Bachelor's Programs

    Bachelor of Bible

    Bachelor of Divinity

    Bachelor of Theology

    Bachelor of Religious Education

    Master's Programs

    Master of Divinity

    Master of Divinity

    Master of Theology

    Master of Religious Education

    Doctoral Programs

    Doctor of Ministry

    Doctor of Biblical Studies

    Doctor of Theology

    Doctor of Religious Education

    • Please indicate which course you would like to begin with in your studies with DIBS (select at least one):

     Bible Survey

     Bible Doctrines

      Both courses

This is where virtually everyone starts in their studies with DIBS. Remember: even if you are quite far along in your Biblical studies, you still have to validate your previous academic achievement. For example, even if you have completed a Bible Survey course elsewhere, you still have to demonstrate that you have learned the information required by the DIBS course. For some people this means merely filling in a few gaps in their knowledge. For many others, it means first realizing that they have major gaps in their knowledge and, second, it means starting over again from the beginning.

    •  Please state what you hope to accomplish as a result of your studies with DIBS.

    • Is there anything else you would like to share or ask?

    V. Send us the following ...

    • Now, if you have filled in all the information, submit this application now.
If you have problems submitting the application, you may print it out and mail it to us.
